At the start of 2025, I was commissioned to lead the Our Place, Our Art project in Stamford, Lincolnshire. As a local resident of Stamford, I am delighted to be creating a piece of art for my home town and I can't wait to collaborate with the local community to create this unique piece of work.
This art project, titled "Our Place, Our Art” aims to celebrate the unique identity, history, and culture of the picturesque market town of Stamford, Lincolnshire. The final artwork will be installed in prominent public locations, serving as lasting symbols of community pride and cohesion.
The Key objectives of the project are to:
Celebrate Community Identity: Reflect the unique characteristics, values, and history of the community.
Enhance Public Spaces: Create visually appealing and thought-provoking artworks that enhance public spaces – preferably something that creates engagement for the public to sit, touch, walk through or photograph in an interesting way.
Foster Community Engagement: Encourage community participation in the artistic process to ensure the artworks resonate with local residents.
Promote Inclusivity: Ensure the project is inclusive, representing the diverse voices and perspectives within our community.
